Help Provide Scouting Programs to NYC Families in Need

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) has had a major impact on the lives of young men and women by instilling in them leadership skills that have shaped their character and have given them experiences and friendships that will last a lifetime.

We know that going to camp improves essential skills such as leadership, teamwork, and communication, skills that will help our at-risk youth overcome the many challenges they face.

An escape to our outdoor classrooms is out of reach financially for most of our students, even though we keep the cost as low as possible.  Your support means that we can extend this opportunity to all who want it, regardless of economic circumstances.

As you know, the pandemic has been an extraordinarily difficult time for our families, as they have faced disruption, isolation, job losses, and grief.   When we reopened summer camps this year it meant so much to our kids.  Scouting is like a second family to them, and it is in summer camp that the magic of Scouting really happens.  Friendships are made, and young people prove to themselves they can do amazing things they never dreamed of.  The research is clear — Scouting levels the playing field for disadvantaged kids, giving them a path to a more successful future.  We’ve seen that firsthand.
